South West Water’s Responsibilities

South West Water is partly responsible for the pipework bringing water into your home.  All the pipework within your building is the customer’s responsibility, and if a problem arises please contact us to resolve it.

If you have any difficulties with the pipework outside your building, from your boundary, of the boundary of the highway that South West Water’s main is placed.  Please call us to carry out an investigation.

We will arrange an appointment for one of our leak detection engineers to visit your property to detect the location of the leak.  From their visit a quotation will be put together for any excavation works needed to carry out the most cost effective repair/replacement.

If the leak on the water supply pipe is determined to be in the highway, or in the highway where the main is placed, the leak would become the responsibility of South West Water, they would then instruct their contractor to carry out the necessary work to resolve the leak.
